RedShift C-SPEC Comp1W Coilovers, 2012-18 Ford Focus 2.0 — part number E-21-CSPEC

Part number E-21-CSPEC. These are the spec coilovers for SCCA's C-SPEC class. The dampers are serialized and sealed with tamper-proof seals (they cannot be opened or modified), so every competitor runs the same damper and coilover specification.

Included in the kit:

• Four sealed, serialized RedShift Comp1W monotube dampers — 30 clicks of damping adjustment, adjustable body length (inverted rear dampers)
• Front camber plates
• RedShift standard springs at the recommended rates below (or any whole kg/mm rate you enter above) and 1.0 kg/mm (56 lb/in) helper springs
• Mounts, height adjusters and adjustment tools — nothing additional to purchase

Options (select above): enter your front and rear spring rates. Add Swift springs (+$380) in the same metric rates.

Spring rates

The maximum spring rate legal for any car in C-SPEC is 600 lb/in front and 800 lb/in rear. Our standard springs are metric (kg/mm), so the closest the standard kit gets to the legal maximum is 10 kg/mm (560 lb/in) front and 14 kg/mm (784 lb/in) rear.

Our spring rate recommendation for the C-SPEC 2012-18 Ford Focus 2.0 (you may run anything up to 600/800 legally in C-SPEC):

• With standard springs: 10F/10R (equivalent to 560F/560R)
• With Swift springs (+$380): 10F/10R (equivalent to 560F/560R)

Springs: Swift springs for these kits come in the same metric (kg/mm) rates as our standard springs. Our lb/in spring supplier, Hyperco, is going out of business; we are researching other SAE-rate (lb/in) spring brands for a new supplier.

Inverted rear damper standard: our kits for the 2012-18 Ford Focus 2.0 come with inverted rear shocks, so the adjuster sits at the bottom of the rear shock and rear adjustments are fast.

Lead time: about 2 weeks when the kit is in stock; the stock line above shows the current lead time for this kit.

Rebuild service: any B-SPEC or C-SPEC damper is rebuilt to its spec, resealed and logged under its serial number for $100 labor per damper (parts extra); turnaround is 3 days. Any part of the kit can be purchased separately, and replacement dampers are available.
